![]() I have not received any collection letter in the past from Credit Sentry and my credit report didn't show any collection record from them, nor in the "Inquiry" section of the report. I don't know what the Statue of Limitation (SOL) because I don't even know which creditorCredit Sentry is representing. Evidence that Sentry Credit is AUTHORIZED to collect debt by the original creditor Evidence that I am the original debtor AND has agreed to the debt in the past with the ORIGINAL creditor What is the amount and how such amount was calculated Just so I understand, what you recommended is:Ģ) WRITE a letter to Sentry Credit, stating that I have received a call from Mandy on xx/xx and I'd like to validate the debt by requesting that they provide the following: Lastly, STAY OFF THE PHONE! if you don't have proof it happened (The DV) the court will likely say it didn't. If the message is left on the wrong phone VM it's third party contact, and a violation. They might use "very importand matter" or something like that, but they can not identify that they are collecting a debt. If the debt is with-in sol the next contact from them will likely be a summons.īy law they can't say what the call is. Only a full c and d will stop them, and that is a foad letter. Thats about all you need to do You call toss in a limited C and D, but short of telling them not to call you at work, they can and likely will keep calling. Just a letter with your name and address, state that so and so contacted you on this date and left a message, and you consider that first contact (They might be dunning a incorrect address) and that you dispute any and all debts that might be in their office and you want validation. If anyone can help me on the above AND provide their experience in dealing with Sentry Credit, I'd greatly appreciate that. NEVER provide me with the information on the purpose of their call, let alone the information of the debt itself. Will this the CORRECT approach to dealing with CA that:Ī) NEVER send me written and formal collection letter Evidence that I am the original debtor AND has agreed to the debt in the pastĢ) Ask them NOT to contact me by phone, either at home or work and all communications must be done in writing (letter). What I am thinking is to call them and ask that they:ġ) Provide information on the debt, specifcally: Again, I have NOT received respond from the bank before Sentry Credit called me today. So I don't know if Sentry Credit is a company hired by this bank. They haven't responded yet (it's only been 31 days). ![]() Basically, I write a letter directly to the bank's contact address (as shown in my credit report) and asking them for proof of the debt. However, I am currently dealing with a bank regarding collection shown on my credit report. whom do I owe, what amount, how that amount was calculated, etc.), but I am worried that they can just sue me (serve court notice) and/or contact my employer anyways because of my lack of understanding of the credit law in California. I don't know if they can do so without providing me information on the debt (i.e. But, I have found out in this forum and other sites from Google that Sentry Credit like to "sue" people out of the blue using a strong-arm tactic. Now, I have NEVER received any collection letter from Sentry Credit, so I don't know who are they representing. I Google'd the number and found out that she's from Sentry Credit, Inc. left a message with return number but without any reason. I assume it is a Collection Agency (CA) because that is typically heir modus operandi. My phone called ID shows the number is (425) 257-9500. I received a call today from someone named "Mandy" and asked me to call her at (800) 608-2581 x3635 without giving any reason or purpose of the call.
